Plans, pages & overage

SmartDMS plans are based on pages processed, not on how many people use them. Personal covers up to five people in one household; Team and every higher plan include unlimited users.

What every paid plan includes

The AI document core is included on every paid tier: auto-filing, Org Brain, natural-language search, workflow automation, approvals, and the full audit log. Plans differ by included page volume, overage rate, storage, support, user policy, and the connectivity or compliance features below.

Features that unlock by plan

  • Available on Office and up Google Drive integration.
  • Available on Team and up Email ingestion. Personal can add it for $39/month.
  • Available on Business and up API access and compliance data export.
  • Available on Business and up QuickBooks integration is a separate $99-per-month add-on when available.
  • Available on Professional and up DocuSign eSignature.
  • Available on Enterprise White-label branding.

Data erasure is not tier-gated. Every customer can use the owner-only permanent erasure flow regardless of plan.

Use the Billing tab

  1. Check plan and usage

    The page shows your current plan or trial status and a readout of pages used against the applicable monthly allowance or 250-page trial cap.

  2. Start checkout when needed

    New accounts complete Stripe Checkout before the 7-day trial begins. If a trial reaches its 250-page cap, the owner can choose Start paid plan now.

  3. Manage an active subscription

    After subscribing, plan and payment-method changes open in the Stripe Customer Portal.

Billing controls are owner-only. Other teammates see Owner access required.

Understand overage

Pages processed beyond your plan’s monthly allowance are billed at your plan’s per-page rate. SmartDMS never moves you to a higher plan on its own — changing plan is always your decision. What happens at the limit is a setting you control: pause until your next cycle, or keep going and pay for the extra pages. Smaller plans pause by default and larger plans keep going, and you can change yours at any time.

Per-page rates are not published here. You will see the exact rate for your plan in your account, at checkout before you commit, and on the confirmation screen before any run that could exceed your allowance — always before a dollar is billed.

Terms, add-ons, and payment

  • Personal, Team and Office are month-to-month, so you can cancel anytime.
  • Business begins with a 1-year commitment because SmartDMS learns your company and its documents, and needs a year to be worth what it costs. After that first year the plan continues month-to-month and can be cancelled anytime.
  • Every plan is billed monthly. Prepay purchasing is not available, so no annual or multi-year rate is offered. There is no setup fee.
  • Your documents are always yours — export anytime, even if you cancel.
  • Extra storage is available at $25 per 100 GB per month.
  • Personal is upload-only. Inbound email intake — your own intake address, documents arriving by email, and automatic replies — can be added to it for $39 per month. Every other plan already includes email intake.
  • Payment is by card or ACH through Stripe; PayPal is not supported.
  • A failed payment moves the subscription to past due and pauses uploads and processing until the payment method is updated.
